Camp Green Lane Blog June 30th

, June 30, 2016

We have been at camp for 6 days now and have been lucky enough to have had perfect weather each day and I mean perfect! It’s the exact temperature you want it to be outside, not too hot, not too cool.  There are only 2 more days of our first 7 day cycle to go through until everyone in camp has been at every activity at least once.  Campers are happy and smiling going from activity to activity each day.

One of my favorite parts of camp is the spirit we have here. You can not walk through camp without hearing a new cheer, song or seeing a silly dance. From the Senior girls screaming in the dining hall, to the Inter boys jumping around at softball 1 when someone hits a homerun, we all have Camp Green Lane sprit. Each division has certain cheers that they call their own. These cheers have been passed down from year to year and are all part of the Camp Green Lane tradition. Our campers have come to expect the Senior boys singing Not Fade Away, or the Senior girls doing Roll Call. The Inters get super pumped to do Aroo-cha-cha or to just cheer their cabin name. We all strive to be the most spirited person in camp. Just another part of what makes CGL so special.

Tonight’s evening activities are highlighted by the Inter girls doing our first paint night of the summer and both the Senior girls and Greeks will play Sing Down. The Senior boys will do one of their favorites-a Taps (basketball game) tournament and finally the Inter boys will play Panic. Fingers crossed (we may need it) for another great day of weather tomorrow!
