Camp Green Lane 100th Summer Blog Post, July 23rd

This has been a bonding week across all of Camp Green Lane, thanks, in part, to all of the activities we’ve done together. As a family.

Today, we all went to amusement parks.

While most of camp headed to Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom, the Greeks and oldest Seniors were at Hershey Park for the day. Right after breakfast, we all boarded buses for a day of fun in the sun—and it was a perfect day. We rode all the rides, we ate all the food and sang the whole way back to camp.

Throughout the summer, there are lots of activities we do in smaller groups. Each division participates in a lot of activities on their own, but then we have special activities that involve the entire camp like today’s trip.

This week has been a lot of all-camp activities, which have a cool way of bringing us all together a little closer as a community. Five days this week have featured all-camp events, beginning all day and night Monday with the #CGL100 celebration. On Wednesday we all rocked out in the GLOBE for the Tanner Grigoli concert. Today, we all went to Dorney and Hershey and tonight for evening activity, we’ll all be together for a Movie Under the Stars (“The Parent Trap”) on the tennis courts. Tomorrow is our Friday Services, when the entire camp will link up for our weekly awards celebration, and then of course, Saturday is Visiting Day, when our camp community expands even further and we welcome all of you inside the arches.

CGL is already buzzing about Saturday. The kids have probably relayed their lists home to you and we’re all looking forward to an awesome day as an extended camp family.

Then, after Visiting Day, we have another all-camp special event planned, capping a week of togetherness.

We’re a family in many ways here across a Green Lane summer, but this week in particular feels like we’re all growing closer.
