Camp Green Lane Blog Post
Happy Funday, everyone!
Today is the last day of our 8-week schedule, and tomorrow will bring a brand new week with new elective and clinic choices, and plenty of awesome adventures!
I thought I’d give you a little overview of the next few days here at CGL to give you some insight as to the excitement happening here. Tonight, we’re attending the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs baseball game, and everyone is already anticipating a dinner of Aw, Shucks corn and plenty of other ballpark staples. After the game, we’ll stay for the fireworks, which are always pretty spectacular.
Tomorrow, we’ll celebrate the 4th of July with a red, white, and blue lunch, where everyone will wear their favorite patriotic outfits to show their spirit. Then, tomorrow night, our campers will be performing their Carnival Lip Syncs, where each boys cabin is paired with a girls cabin to choreograph and perform an excerpt from a song, this year based on the theme “In the Mood for Food.” Wednesday’s camp video will definitely be one you won’t want to miss!
Then, Wednesday we take a break from our regular camp schedule for Carnival! It’s a big celebration all over camp where we deck out the Dome with lots of decorations, and each cabin hosts a carnival booth to entertain their fellow campers! We’ll have soft pretzels and water ice (sorry, wooder ice), big bouncy inflatables on the lawns, and plenty of prizes to be won. It’s an awesome way to mix up the routine of a schedule, and to have a LOT of fun.
Then, Wednesday night is our first dance of the year! Everyone will dress up a bit (and yes, they’re already planning their outfits) and meet for a night of dancing and socializing on BB1.
We’re going to be making a lot of memories in the next few days, and we can’t wait to share some of them with you through pictures, videos, and I’m sure quite a few letters home.
Happy early 4th of July! We hope you have a great holiday tomorrow, making lots of great memories with your friends and family at home!
