Camp Green Lane Blog Post
Happy Thursday!
Today was our big field trip day to Hershey Park and Dorney Park, a big favorite for CGL campers and staff alike! The younger cabins went to Dorney Park and the older cabins went to Hershey, but everyone enjoyed a day of roller coasters, water parks, and theme park food. It was a pretty epic day, and our campers are already sporting their new gear as a proud emblem of their summer 2023 visits.
Tonight’s evening activity is another favorite – fireworks! Everyone will grab a spot on cadet boy lawn to watch our own private fireworks show to help us end this amazing day with a big BANG!
Plus, now that Hershey/Dorney has been checked off the list of amazing “to-do’s” for the summer, the brand new 2023 Color War Prediction Chart has been posted in the dining hall for cabins to be able to guess the date and time that Color War will officially break. You’re welcome to contribute your guesses in the comments, too!
I would also be remiss not to mention our fantastic camp show last night! Counselor and director Iona worked hard with a select group of campers and counselors to put together an awesome production of Annie, which was performed with enthusiasm and joy in front of the entire camp last night. As a former theatre teacher and director, let me tell you, it takes a lot of guts to get up in front of people to perform, let alone the entire camp!! Congratulations to the entire cast and crew, and we can’t wait to share a preview of the show with you on Saturday!
Visiting Day is Saturday! We can’t wait to see you all and welcome you to Camp Green Lane. We’ll have more information for you tomorrow, so be sure to stay tuned!
