Camp Green Lane Blog Post
Happy Visiting Day Eve!!!
We cannot wait to welcome so many of you to Camp Green Lane tomorrow, and for you to experience a little bit of a camp summer through your campers’ eyes.
If you yourself were a CGL camper, you may find yourself wandering around camp, overcome with nostalgia of your own summers here. Maybe you’ll excitedly share your camp memories with your current campers, point out your name as it appears around camp, and get lost in the mystical way that regardless how long you’ve been away, camp never really seems to change.
If you are a CGL first-timer, you’ll love seeing this unique world through your camper’s eyes, bringing to life the stories and places they write about in their letters home. You’ll meet their best friends and their counselors, putting faces with names. You’ll get to experience camp through your campers’ own memories, however recent they may be, and leave with a sense of what they love about life between the arches.
We haven’t had a proper Visiting Day since 2019; a lot of our campers have never experienced one, and neither have a fair amount of counselors and upper staff. We’ve heard about the joyous reunions, copious amounts of food, and excitement shared between campers and families, but I have a feeling that until we witness it for ourselves, we can’t fully appreciate the specialness of a true Visiting Day.
We cannot wait for you to arrive. It’s going to be a beautiful summer day, so be sure to bring your sunscreen, water bottles, and maybe a few camping chairs to set up in a beautiful shady spot for a picnic lunch.
We’ll see you tomorrow!!!
