Camp Green Lane Blog Post August 8th
Another beautiful day at camp! Couldn’t ask for better weather for our last week here. Today we had our annual Challenge day. Some Challenges included Senior Boys vs. Senior Girls water polo, Holiday vs. Cubs steal the bacon and Delta vs. Hyatt ice cream sandwich eating contest. The kids had the best time playing against different cabins. Everyone was active and excited. Today we also had many of the league playoff games. I was lucky enough to be at the Senior Girls leagues refereeing the 1st place team vs. the 4th place team in basketball. The game started with the first place team killing the game, but after some awesome coaching from Biltmore Counselor Rachel Bernstein, the 4th place team started to slowly come back. In the end, the 4th place team won in a huge upset! That is the reason I love league playoffs. Anyone can win in the end if they work hard. The girls were so excited and continued that excitement into their afternoon game. In the end they were able to pull out the win and become the Senior Girl league champions!! What an amazing ending!
Tonight the entire camp will go on their final trip of the summer, ice-skating. It is always a fun night for all of our campers and counselors. I think it is so nice to see older campers help out younger campers on the ice and skate with them. Also the rink we go too has the best snack bar of all time. So we are all pumped for this last night out of camp as a group!
