Camp Green Lane Blog Post July 12th

We’re all still feeling Olympics a little bit. Maybe it was all the cheering or all the fun events, but we got a chance to recharge our batteries this morning with a 10:00 breakfast. The late wake-up was a nice change of pace after yesterday’s Olympics, which is the single-most exciting day of the summer.

Today we were back to a normal Someday schedule, albeit just a bit later. That means it was Elective in the morning for the boys and Clinic for the girls, and then they flipped in the afternoon. Inter Boys had Instructional Swim and the Cadets had Leagues. Inter Girls did Arts and Crafts, played pickleball and beach volleyball. Senior Girls had drama, lake, BBK, softball, archery and gymnastics. Senior Boys had Leagues and low ropes on the schedule and the Greeks played frisbee golf and soccer.

Everybody had free swim throughout the afternoon and a regular Free Play.

Tonight will be our third Friday night services of the summer, when we come together as a camp to reflect on the previous week. You can feel the summer turning into the second half and tonight we’ll honor perseverance among the Came Green Lane community.

We’ll also celebrate spirit and inspection winners and everyone’s favorite, a new group of COWs to moo and cheer for. After that it’s bunk parties and just like that, another week at CGL will come to a close.
