Camp Green Lane Blog Post July 17th
Today was our annual Intercamp Games against Camp Nock a Mixon. Their boys came here and our girls headed over to their camp for the day. The campers always love seeing their friends from other camps and it was a fun day had by all. We had some hard fought wins and a few loses, but overall, it was a day filled with great sportsmanship, coaching, cheering and lots of laughter. I loved watching the campers cheer on their bunkmates and show their Green Lane spirit. That’s what our camp is all about.
Tonight marks the halfway point here at camp. I don’t know about you, but our summer here is flying by! I look around at all the smiling faces and children holding hands and I wish I could freeze time. It’s a good reminder to soak up and cherish every minute we have left here between the arches. While the summer may be flying by, we still have so many exciting things to look forward to!
This coming week is one we need to really make last because we don’t have many regular weeks of camp left. With visiting day just around the corner it will not be long till we hear those booms and run to BB1. Excitement is already starting to build for what is to come in camp, but I am trying to make sure all the campers live in the moment. Camp memories come from the little moments that you thought you would never remember, but for some reason you can never forget. So for the next 3 and a half weeks I’m hoping to help the campers remember the little moments that they will keep in their hearts forever.
