Camp Green Lane Blog Post July 17th

Today’s Olympic events started with eating mystery pies for Fear Factor and it will end with the Wing Bowl this evening. In between, CGL Olympics 2025 has been an action-packed day of wacky games, the famous obstacle course, and a crazy amount of animated spirit.

Teams Nickelodeon, DreamWorks, Disney and Pixar started a memorable day of competition first thing this morning following the Opening Ceremonies. Former Camper Captains carried the Olympic torch around lower camp and Uncle Max lit the ceremonial flame to begin the Games.

First was Fear Factor. The 8 captains ate their way to the bottom of a fearsome pie on BB1. From there, we split up into divisional activities for most of the day. Camp Green Lane Olympics veer away from traditional events like Track & Field and instead compete in silly games throughout the day. Each division participated in a total of 5 activities, including wild games like Sea Hunt, Wacky Relay Races, Slip N Slide Relays, Banana Toss, Team Tic Tac Toe, Monkey Soccer, Tennis Baseball and Slip N Slide Kickball.

Right before lunch (meatball subs) we played an all-camp game of the Shoe Game, aka All God’s Children out on the Soccer field. In the afternoon we cheered on the 8 captains in the annual Obstacle Course and we ended the day with alternating Free Swim and Rallies to work on songs for the Sing, the final event of Olympics.

Tonight at dinner, second-year Greeks will compete in the Wing Bowl, and then later on tonight, we’ll gather for the Olympic Dance and crown a winner. The winner of the Sing, held at the dance, will win this summer’s Olympics.
