Camp Green Lane Blog Post July 1st
The sun rose over the trees on another beautiful day at Camp Green Lane. After a breakfast of eggs and English muffins, the kids head off to receive their chosen advanced training in clinics.
Last night was our first overnight of the summer. The Cadet boys spent the night up on Field 5 in tents and had a ball! They started out by putting up their tents followed by burgers and dogs over the fire. Some good old fashioned story telling and bonding under the stars was all they needed to have a great time together! Each division will have their overnight coming up!
Today brought in Lacrosse camp-within-a-camp. Campers who have never played as well as campers who play lacrosse at home came together and learned new skills. Camps-within-a-camp are a great time for campers who excel at a sport to receive more training with high level coaches, and those who haven’t ever done something to try something new.
Shortly after noon, lunch was called and the kids ran to the dining hall for chicken patties. As the afternoon activities roll on, campers begin to get excited for their evening activities which bring both new trips and familiar programs.
Tonight our Senior Boys and Senior Girls are going bowling, while Upper Inters head out on a new CGL trip, Grand Slam, which has Laser Tag, Batting Cages, Glow In The Dark Mini Golf, Ninja Obstacle Course, Arcade Games, Nerf Blaster Battle, Spaceball Trampoline, and even Nine Square in the Air. Wow, that sounds fun! Cadets and lower Inters are saying in camp to play capture the flag and dodgeball, and Greeks are playing Send Me.
More news tomorrow from another amazing day between the arches!
