Camp Green Lane Blog Post July 24th

, July 24, 2018

With the heat wave during the first week of summer in our rear view mirror, the weather at Camp Green Lane lately has been nothing but cool and breezy with highs in the low 80s. This cooler weather is wonderful for camp, as our kids can be seen running around with endless amounts of energy. Not even the intermittent light rain showers can stop them — the pool, lake, and mudslides become filled with campers singing and dancing in the warm rain!

Today is Camp Kindness Day across the nation. Different camps from all over the country are celebrating kindness and what it means to be a good person.

Here at Camp Green Lane we have decided to focus on giving back to children who are less fortunate. We are making signs to hang at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia as well as make personalized cards and beaded bracelets. We are hoping to put a smile on the faces of the children at the hospital and brighten their day.

Today is also a good opportunity for our campers to take a second to realize how truly lucky they are. As they make their gifts for the children at C.H.O.P, we will talk to them about how grateful they should be for all they have. They have their health and the greatest opportunity in the world to be here at Camp Green Lane!

Yours in Camping,

Aunt Dana
