Camp Green Lane Blog Post, July 26th
Today was another amazing Visiting Day at Camp Green Lane.
Everyone was laughing, hugging, smiling, and of course eating ridiculous amounts of food. It was so nice to look around camp and see generations of families sitting together enjoying the warmth of the arches! And the weather, we deserve it after all this rain and heat this summer!
The day was a huge success! Thank you all for your cooperation during this day. We know how much you love your children, and thank you for trusting us with that responsibility during the summer. We appreciate all your kindness and are happy to tell you there were all smiles as the campers had another of our Survivor Events after you left.
Shortly after you left, the Survivor music came over the loudspeakers and got us all down to BB1 for an all-camp game of Cups. If you’ve never played, it’s a game where two people try to grab a plastic cup sitting on the ground between them. Survivor Cups started with every camper in camp on the court. By the end, there was one Senior Boy—Zach Greenberg—standing to claim the important victory.
In a couple of weeks, the points will be added up and a Survivor winner will be crowned.
Across most of the conversations I had today, we talked about first, what an awesome summer we’re having, and second, how little time we sadly have left here. As we get older, time moves faster. Hyperspeed days are here, so we’re going to make sure to savor these next few days, the quiet before Color War and the inevitable close of another camping season.
Tonight is the annual Visiting Day visit by the So Fun Game Show in the GLOBE. There is a show for inters, debs/cadets, and a separate show for the Seniors and Greeks. They came for staff orientation and everyone had a blast. People were up cheering, laughing, and making fools out of themselves in the best way possible. Stay tuned for pictures from tonight. We know they will all have a great time! So fun!
It was so good to see all of you today.
But is anyone else tired?
