Camp Green Lane Blog Post July 30th
There are surprises around every corner at this time of the summer.
Today’s big surprise was the news that we were going to the movies this afternoon! After lunch (hamburgers) the lower half of camp boarded yellow buses and headed off to the theater to see the new Smurfs movie. A few hours later, the older kids got in their Green Lane shirts to see the new Superman movie! We all got popcorn and drinks and wore our new bunk sweatshirts and made a big human pile in the theater for a relaxing afternoon.
It was a great way to beat the heat today. Dinner in the air conditioned Dining Hall, which has been a nice oasis from the higher temperatures all summer, was moved back to 7 p.m. to let everyone get back from their movies.
After Free Play tonight, Inter Girls and Debs will play Send Me for their Evening Activities, Inter Boys have Know Your Counselor; Cadets will play Message to Garcia, Senior Girls have a Sing Down, Senior Boys play Leagues under the lights, and Greeks have Human Building Blocks.
Today was a big surprise.
Who knows what kind of surprises are waiting tomorrow …
