Camp Green Lane Blog Post, July 9th
Last night was our first all-camp dance of the summer and it was so much fun. We’re still dancing!
The Carnival dance is always a special night, and this year was no exception. A new Carnival King and Queen were crowned in front of the entire camp. Congratulations to 2021 Camp Green Lane Carnival Queen Emma Satisky and Carnival King Jacob “Condo” Israel. They join a long line of former Kings and Queens going back generations. It’s one of many CGL traditions we look forward to each year.
Our oldest campers danced late into the night and we were excited to have a late breakfast today. We all took advantage of the 10:00 breakfast on a beautiful camp day. We had a regular Friday cookout lunch (hot dogs!) and campers were scattered across camp under clear blue skies for a slightly adjusted Heyday schedule.
Tonight we’ll come together again as a full camp for our first Friday Night Services of the summer. The Inter Girls will kick off the season as we reflect on an amazing start to the summer, and look ahead to the next five action-packed weeks.
We’ll also have our first bunk parties of the summer tonight. That’s when campers get to pick something from the Canteen and their treats are delivered later tonight for an end-of-the-week bunk celebration.
A full day and fun-filled week are coming to an end here at camp.
See you tomorrow!
