Camp Green Lane Blog Post June 29th
Today was Anyday on the schedule.
That means all of Boys Camp started their day with Clinic, while the Girls went to Elective during the first period of the day. While they are both choose-your-own activities the kids pick each week, Clinic is a period of more detailed coaching and instruction in traditional sports like Basketball, Football and Lacrosse, while Elective is a time for more artistic pursuits like Arts & Crafts and Cooking.
Adding another layer to the variety of our daily schedule, Boys and Girls will alternate Clinic and Elective almost every other day.
On Anyday, the Boys were at their Electives while the Girls hustled up and down BB1 (Basketball 1, our main court in camp), raced across Soccer 2 down by the Lake and sent softballs flying on Softball 1.
And that was just First Period.
The rest of the morning saw the Inter Boys at the Pool for Instructional Swim, the Cadets played Ultimate Frisbee, went to High Ropes, played Pickleball and rode Bikes; the Senior Boys were at Quads, Cooking, Kickball and the Lake.
The Inter Girls also had their turn at Instructional Swim, the Debs prepared for Leagues (more on that tomorrow), and the Senior Girls teamed up for some time at Drama, the Lake, BBK and Softball.
The Greeks were busy all day with Frolf (frisbee golf), Beach Games, Basketball, Gymnastics and Soccer.
This morning, we had eggs and hash browns for breakfast; bagels and lox for lunch, and dinner is going to be lasagna.
Then it’s Free Play when is be Girls’ Canteen (the Boys got theirs yesterday when Aunt Jamie opened the Canteen for the season).
And then we’ll all head to Evening Activities before bed. Senior Girls are going Bowling for the first trip of the summer. Inter Girls will play “Panic!’ Inter Boys will play “Send Me.” Cadets will have a Night Swim and the Debs will play “Mime Down the Line.” Senior Boys are pumped for a Counselor Hunt and the Greeks will play “Singled Out.”
Check back tomorrow for a recap of a whole new day of activities and a Leagues special edition!
Have a great week!
