Camp Green Lane Blog Post June 29th
Today, staff from the Laurel House came to speak with campers about healthy relationships and friendships. The campers played multiple games and made crafts. They learned lessons on how to communicate with friends, how boundaries are important, how to work as a team and characteristics that make up good friends.
Tonight we are having our first Camp Green Lane Friday nights Services of the summer! It is always one of my favorite nights of the week. The entire camp joins together and we celebrate what a great week we had. Tonight’s service will be lead by the girls of Gamma and the theme is “Family”. That is exactly how I would describe Camp Green Lane. We are a group of people who come together for the summer and quickly turn into family. The friendships made here are the most special in the world.
We will also be handing out our first CGL CHIPS of the summer tonight. CGL CHIPS stands for Compassion, Generosity, Leadership, Creativity, Honesty, Integrity, Perseverance and Sportsmanship. These are characteristics we hope each camper and staff member encompasses and strives for. Tonight we will be honoring “compassion”. The Supervisors will choose one camper from each of their divisions who they feel has exemplified what compassion truly means. The campers will receive a medal that they will be able to cherish for years to come.
Yours in camping,
Aunt Dana
