Camp Green Lane Summer Blog Post- June 24th
What a great start to summer 2017! The busses all pulled into camp to the sound of counselors and staff cheering, memories in the making. Once the busses pulled out the fun began. From the littlest Inter to the oldest Greek they were all outside playing on this beautiful Camp Green Lane day.
The first activity the campers participated in was a tour of camp. Each cabin walked around Camp Green Lane to show the new campers the lay-of-the-land. Then it was time for lunch. Let the cheering begin!!! There is no sound better than a room full of cheering kids. Both first timers and veterans were standing and cheering so loud. The first timers will know all the words by tomorrow! We are looking forward to a very spirited summer!
The afternoon was filled with more activities, swimming, shower hour, lineup, and dinner. Chicken fingers and French fries were on the menu, along with more cheering and songs.
After dinner we had free play by cabin and then it was time to get ready for our counselor talent show. The night ended with roars of laughter as the campers had the opportunity to see their counselors make fools of themselves. We do have some very talented staff, as one of our Super Talented Male Counselors, Alex Norwood in the Mets cabin did an unreal rendition of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking out Loud” with all the campers singing along. It was really an awesome sight!
Tomorrow will bring more of the same!
Once again, we are honored that you have entrusted your children to us for the summer. Please know that they will be cared for as if they were our own. We will make every effort to ensure their health, happiness, and that they return to you stronger, happier and more independent children in August.
Yours in Camping,
Jay and Adam
