December Newsletter

As November has come and gone, we look back at everything we are thankful for. First and foremost, I am thankful for all of you, our camp family.

Can you believe it is almost mid-December?

My classes are really getting into the camp spirit. We had a day where other professionals came in to present to our students about different careers. I took this opportunity to talk about how I spend m summers as the Program Director at Camp Green Lane. I showed my classes the camp video from last year. They could not believe all the different things that we do over the summer. I asked them what they do over summer. Some take week-long trips, some attend day camp, but most of them didn’t have a good answer. While watching the video, I realized all of the amazing things we do each summer. We go to baseball games, movies, paintballing, amusement parks, have dances, carnivals, color war, knockerball, lake slides and so much more. After some class discussions, my students are incredibly jealous of how we get to spend our summers.

It seems like just yesterday we were saying goodbye to summer, and here we are in the midst of holiday cheer. The temperatures are falling, snow is inevitable, and 2016 is right around the corner.  In camp terms, this means that were are no longer looking back on the amazing summer we had, but are now looking forward to the summer with excitement and anticipation.

Lots of surprises and new activities are in the works.

Until next time,

Uncle Jesse
